Summer is finally here, which means it's time to bust out the BBQ – woo hoo!

But before you get your grill on, it turns out Gordon Ramsay has a thing or two to teach us about cooking burgers. And apparently we've all been doing it wrong for years.

The celebrity chef has revealed the mistakes we've been making ... and has revealed exactly what we should be doing instead.

First of all, Gordon says we should be cooking our burgers using the hottest part of the grill, which is normally about two thirds of the way up.

He also recommends keeping the BBQ lid on, so it 'incorporates the heat, and gets a great sear on the bottom, so when it comes to turn those burgers they don't stick.'

In terms of food prep, the TV chef advises seasoning your patties with salt and pepper before grilling them, as well as coating them lightly with a beaten egg.

The one thing he wants you to avoid? Transporting your burgers directly from your fridge to the grill. This is because you need to let them rest, or else risk them staying raw in the middle and dry on the outside ... nobody wants that!

In his final piece of advice, Gordon recommends making sure you're letting your patties sit on the grill, noting:

'The more you move it, the more chance you've got of breaking the burger.'

He shared his BBQ advice in a video made few years ago, but it's doing the rounds again ahead of the sunny weather that's on it's way (we hope!).

If your burgers always stick to the grill, we've got the perfect hack for you to try ... all you need is a potato!

Or, if your BBQ racks are super rusty, here's the easiest way to clean them.

In other summer news, if you're planning a trip to the seaside this summer, here's how to ensure you don't end up bringing the whole beach back with you ...

Or, if you struggle with sweaty boobs in the heat (it happens to the best of us), you NEED to try this hack.
