What to watch in June 2020: new releases on Netflix, Amazon Prime and more

We may never have had a socially-distanced summer before, but at least there's still plenty of cracking telly to keep us entertained while life slowly begins to get back to normal. Check out the best new shows coming to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky, the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 in June.

The controversial American drama is coming to an end this month.

In the first season, teenager Hannah committed suicide and documented 13 reasons why she did it, some of which related to her peers at school. Now, the senior students at Liberty High are graduating.

Of course, there's another dangerous secret buried among themselves – will they all be able to keep it?

Yas Queen! The fab five are back to make you feel your best with some much needed self-love inspo.

The confidence-boosting babes – Tan, Antoni, Karamo, Jonathan and Bobbi – are taking on Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the US to give some specially selected people a whole life makeover.

What's it about?

Start your engines ... superstar drag queen RuPaul and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Michelle Visage will once again be judging drag queens from previous seasons.

Helping them find the ultimate drag queen are celeb guests like Ricky Martin, Bebe Rexha, Jane Krakowski, Sarah Hyland and The Greatest Dancer judge Todrick Hall.

What's it about?

Don't dismiss this cartoon jus because, well, it's a cartoon. It could be just the laugh you're looking for!

F is for Family is set in the 1970s, when political correctness, parenting correctness and smoking bans weren't a thing.

It follows hot-tempered Frank Murphy and his family through a nostalgic look back at '70s life. The perfect pre-bedtime watch, we reckon.

What's it about?

The second season of the American comedy drama picks up right where the show left off, with college student Payton Hobart ready to fight Senate majority meader Dede Standish for their seat in the New York State Senate race.

Starring Bette Midler and Gwyneth Paltrow, this show is a hoot!

Crime drama fans, we're talking to you.

The Sinner is a dark series that follows a police detective, who takes on different cases each season.

The new season kicks off with a car crash that leaves only one survivor, but was it really an accident like they initially thought? Dun, dun, dunn.

Finally, part 2 of the fascinating docuseries about babies is back on Netflix.

It follows families around the world as they welcome a new member of the family into their lives. Over the course of a year, the new parents and their newborns are recorded by film crews to monitor the baby's early stages of development.

It looks at the science behind what exactly is going on in babies' brains ... and the parents', too!

What's coming to Amazon Prime in June?

So this is a teen spy series ... but WAIT, before you scroll on, it's not anything like those CBBC ones that used to come on after school.

The show is actually adapted from the novel Point Blanc, the second book in Anthony Horowitz's bestselling book series.

Alex Rider is a teenager who's been raised by his uncle, following the death of his parents. But after his uncle dies, too, Alex starts to investigate and finds out he's been living a lie.

What's it about?

If you fell in love with Normal People, the BBC's TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel by the same name, there's a good chance you'll enjoy this new film. It even stars Fionn O’Shea, who plays Jamie in Normal People.

Dating Amber follows the unusual relationship between two Irish teens who join forces by pretending they're in love, in a bid to stop speculation about their sexuality.

Unfortunately, it doesn't go all too well. Set in the '90s, this film will have you reminiscing about the good 'ol days and all those hormonal feelings we had.

What's it about?

If you haven't seen any of This is Us yet, it could definitely be your next binge watch.

The whole show follows the lives and families of two parents, and their three children, in several different time frames.

Expect big laughs AND tears during this comedy drama.

What's coming to Sky in June?

What's it about?

Sadly, the time has come. How to Get Away With Murder has reached its final season.

Viola Davis returns as Annalise Keating in the hit show to uncover more mysteries.

Now is the perfect time to watch this from the start if you haven't already ... we know what we'll be doing when the kids have gone to bed.

Strap in for a wild ride with MacGyver as he's back for more adventure.

In the first episode, you see ex-MI6 agent Russ Taylor trying to hunt down a bioweapon that's to be used for an attack on a major US city.

Will MacGyver be able to help?! Of course he will.

Remember when all we had to talk about was Hilary Clinton's emails, Trump and Brexit? Ah, good times.

This documentary shows intimate moments from Hilary Clinton's 2016 campaign to be president of the USA.

What's it about?

Ashley Jensen returns for another round of the mystery series as Agatha – a London PR exec turned countryside amateur detective.

This time, she opens her own detective agency but isn't exactly getting the business. She visits a 'haunted' house to uncover whether there's a ghost about, or if it's someone trying to scare the owner away.

This docuseries was filmed in spring 2019, before we even knew coronavirus was a real word.

It follows staff from North West Ambulance Service as they care for the city of Liverpool and across Merseyside.

Get an up close and personal insight into what the ambulance services had to deal with on a daily basis, before we were all locked down.

It's a struggle to remember what that was like!

A new female-led comedy? Yep, we're in.

The Other One is about what happens when you discover your dead dad has a secret family and you now have a brand new sister ... with the same name as you.

What's it about?

Peter Crouch is saving our summer, apparently.

He's teaming up with presenter Maya Jama and comedian Alex Horne for a smashing new entertainment show, that'll hopefully make us forget about our cancelled holidays and plans.

There will be special performances from the gardens of music megastars, celebrity guests and a sporting tournament featuring impressive sport stars.

Not quite the same as Glasto, but hey, it's a welcome distraction for a couple of hours.
