Use these handy weight conversion tables to work out different weights, volumes, cups and oven temperatures for Netmums recipes.

This page contains affiliate links, which means we may earn a small amount of money if a reader clicks through and makes a purchase. All our articles and reviews are written independently by the Netmums editorial team.

For ease of use, the weights and volumes have been rounded up or down to whole numbers and are not exact conversions, so stick to one set of measurements for each recipe. Spoon and cup measures are level, not heaped.

If you want to keep a copy handy and stick it on your fridge door, download our printable version of the conversion tables.

On this page you will find:

  • Oven temperature: Gas/°C/°F
  • Weight conversion: Imperial (lbs/oz) to metric (g/kg)
  • Volume conversion: Imperial (floz/pts) to metric (ml/l)
  • Cup conversion: Cups to g and oz

If you have a fan assisted oven, turn the temperature down by around 10°C and reduce cooking times slightly if needed.

A standard metric cup holds 250ml (an American cup holds slightly less, but so long as you stick to one measure or the other, your recipes will convert fine). When measuring dry ingredients, level off the cup with the back of a knife, without tapping or shaking the cup, as this packs down the ingredients and doesn't give a true measure. You can buy a cheap set of measuring cups and spoons from most supermarkets and department stores.
