Tips

This weaning lasagne is suitable for babies from 6 months, though you may prefer to wait until your baby is used to eating fruit and vegetable purees first.

It's completely up to you if you want to whack this in a blender and spoon-feed the puree to your baby, or just serve it to your baby as-is, as part of baby-led weaning. Expect plenty of mess if you serve it up without blending; but exploring the different textures is great for your baby! If you prefer, you could start out offering it blended, then gradually make the texture chunkier over time.

Variations

Add extra veg to make this even healthier for your baby, and help them get used to new tastes. Aubergine and courgette work particularly well, or just chuck in whatever leftovers you have in the fridge.

If you'd like to make a vegetarian version for your baby, soya mince is a good alternative to beef mince.

You could use your own lasagne, but you would not be able to use salt when cooking it

Can you use your own lasagna and blend it ? We make a chicken one that we all love and I was hoping to just blend it when my baby is old enough

I am going to try this tomorrow. My daughter is nearly 9months and is a very good eater but i am running out of ideas. This sounds really good and is something different and easy, she loves pasta too.
