11 things you'll know if you have three kids or more

From needing a bigger car to never needing to buy new clothes, these are thing only parents with three children or more will know.

Many things that kids like to eat and drink such as cans of beans, yogurts and cartons of juice all tend to come in packs of four.

This makes food shopping awkward and more expensive. Especially when no-one wants to share.

Some activities such as swimming are always more challenging than you think!

You have one child who is super confident but still too young to be left alone, one that wants to you to pay attention to their 'tricks' and another who needs constant supervision to keep them alive.

It is not for the faint hearted.

With more than one child, it's so difficult to put aside special one-on-one time for each child.

There never seems to be enough hours in the day to do that and the guilt is enormous.

Clothes hold wonderful memories and seeing a piece being used by all of your kids gives you all the feels. 

You sometimes forget that the oldest two aren’t the same age as each other and hold them to the same standard. 

It can also be tricky to remember everyone's birthday and how old they're going to be!

Make that, a fortune!

Almost all package holidays and hotels seem to be geared up to families of four.

If you have more than two children, you usually have to splash out for a villa or two rooms.

It's so lovely to see how close they are and how much the love and look out for one another.

They have their own little gang.

You try to find a car that first three car seats across the back seat.

And then realise, so many don't. Grr. New car it is.

But even if the car is big enough to fit your kids, there's all their stuff to consider.

You need a huge boot to accommodate all the buggies, bags, toys and snacks that come with three or more kids.

Not to mention the panic of trying to fit in friends for playdates.

A van it shall be!

Car sorted. Next it's all those car seats. From rear-facing to high-back, you become a pro at which ones fit your car, who needs which one and how to contort yourself to strap everyone in, on a main road/in the pouring rain/accompanied by sibling squabbles .... you get the picture!

When out and about with the kids, we're used to being told that we 'have our hands full'.

Well you know what? We have our hearts full as well.

One of the best things about having more than three kids is that you're not the only one they rely on.

If your oldest children are at school age, they are usually quite willing to help with the younger children and can take on a maternal role.

They say it takes a village after all.
