1. A high bump
It's all about the bump!
Rumour has it that if your bump is high and you can't tell you're pregnant from behind then it's a girl.
2. You're a bit zitty
Girls 'steal a mother's beauty', so the old wives say.

So, if you have breakouts in pregnancy, it could be a girl. Other signs are that your hair is thinner and dull.
3. No crusts allowed
Bit of an odd one this.
The old wives' tale says that if you always choose the crust of the loaf, it's a sign you're expecting a boy.
Prefer the squishy middle bit? Then it's a girl!
4. It's all in the eyes
If you look in the mirror for a minute and your eyes don't dilate, it means you're having a girl – well, so this old wives' tale says!
5. You walk with extra grace
Do you find yourself being more graceful than usual during your nine months?
In that case, you're possibly carrying a girl ...
6. You keep your shapely legs
Do your legs look just the same as they did pre-pregnancy? Chances are if you've avoided cankles and swollen feet, you're having a girl, if this theory is to believed.
7. The eye pull test
Brace, brace ... this is a super weird one!
Apparently, if you pull down your eye lids and you see a 'V' shaped vein in your left eye, you're having a girl!
8. Your man eats for two
If your partner piles on the pounds then that could mean he'll be having a daughter.
Either that or he's just been choffing too much pizza!
9. Dull coloured wee
Next time you hand over a urine sample, sneak a look at the colour.
Dull yellow? That means it's a girl. Apparently.
10. Show your hands
When someone asks you to show your hands, do you hold them out with the palms facing upwards, or down?
Upwards apparently means you're having a girl. Hmm ...
11. The ring thing
Ahh the old ring test.
So the theory goes like this. Tie a gold ring to ribbon and hang it above your tummy.
If it swings in a circle, you're so say carrying a girl in there!
12. You spend your first trimester hugging the loo
If morning, afternoon and evening sickness hit you hard in the first trimester – and beyond – you could be cooking a pink one.
Some say the worse your morning sickness is, the more likely you are to be having a girl.
13. The way you sleep
Do you sleep on your right side in pregnancy? Or your left?
Right-sided kipping could indicate you're having a girl, apparently!
14. Sweets for my sweet
If you crave sweet things, the old wives' takes reckon this means you're expecting a girl.
Craving salty or savoury foods? Then it's a boy.
Or so the theory goes ...
15. You're a moody mare
Some say that if you are carrying a girl you'll be grumpier and more emotional!
Let's be honest, most of us are moody mares during pregnancy so this might be a tough call.
16. You haven't gone up a shoe size
If your feet stay the same size during pregnancy then that means it's a girl ... of course it does!
17. Toasty tootsies
The theory goes that if you're carrying a boy, your feet get colder much more quickly than they did before pregnancy.
Toasty toes? Then it's likely to be a girl!
18. You don't reek of garlic
If you munch garlic and it doesn't seep out of your pores and smell, then it's a girl. Well ... so they say!
