As the weather continues to warm up – and our energy bills keep rising too – we're all DESPERATE to start hanging our clothes out on the line instead of tumble drying them.

And it turns out there's an added bonus to drying our laundry the natural way too ... stain removal.

One mum has figured out a genius way to get rid of tough stains without spending a fortune on expensive detergents and washing powders.

She shared her tip on the Facebook group 'Cleaning Hacks, Tips and Recommendations' back in 2019 but it's gone viral once again.

The mum posted two photos of her baby's white onesie in the group.

In one photo, the babygrow is covered in tomato sauce, and in the other 'after' photo, the clothing looks good as new 24 hours later.

The secret? Simply hanging the stained onesie on the washing line out in the sunshine ... that's it!

The mum captioned the post:

'Before and after 24 hours on the line and no stain remover needed.'

Commenters on the post also confirmed that the hack worked wonders, with one writing:

'It genuinely works.

'Poo and tomato sauce stains disappear after several hours outside in strong sunshine. Don't ask how it works, it just does.'

'I do this all the time and most of the time it works a treat,' another user said.

If you're after more laundry hacks, another mum has shared one for fitting more babygrows on your clothes dryer when hanging your washing inside.

@jaymeelea96 shared a video on her TikTok where she uses the poppers at the bottom of her baby's onesie to hang the garment from the rail.

This way, the clothing takes up much less space than when hanging it like a t-shirt. So simple yet so effective!

The mum captioned her video: 'Little washing tip! Space-saving hack!

'Look at how much less room it takes up on the airer.'
