A quick and easy budget snack or light meal...

  • Prep Time 1 min
  • Cook Time 2 mins
  • Serves 1
  • Difficulty Level Easy

Preparation

  • Total Time 3 mins
  • Preparation Time 1 min
  • Cooking Time 2 mins
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp butter
  1. Beat the eggs, milk and seasoning together in a bowl
  2. Add the butter then tip the mixture into a non-stick frying pan
  3. Cook over a high heat stirring constantly so that the bottom of the pan doesn't burn, then remove from the heat immediately when cooked
  4. Alternatively cook over a low heat - this takes longer but you are less likely to burn or overcook the mixture

You will need

Frying pan - We love this non-stick one from Tefal. It measures 20cm (but can be found in various sizes, too)  see more details here at Amazon.

Large mixing bowl – this one by Wilko has high sides and a non-slip base and costs next to nothing  – see more details here at Wilko.

Tips

A basic scrambled egg recipe that can be jazzed up to your liking. Highly nutritious and very versatile - this is definitely a good one to master.

Serves 1 hungry child - simply increase the measurements accordingly for more.

Scrambled eggs are a great weaning food for babies. If the eggs have a Red Lion Stamp, it's perfectly fine to feed them to your baby when they're still a little runny. If there's no Lion Stamp, make sure the eggs are thoroughly cooked through before serving.

Pro tip: Take the pan off the heat just before the eggs are done to your liking. They'll continue to cook in their own heat as you serve them up.

Variations

Adding small peices of cooked ham, salmon, smoked salmon, bacon, grated cheese, chopped tomato, chopped fresh parsley, cooked sweet peppers

For adults, you can also add a pinch of salt once the eggs are done.

Have you ever tried scrambled eggs with rainbow pepper? Amazing!
