Baby bundle

Preparing for your little one's arrival can be challenging AND expensive ... but if you’re clever about what you buy, and where you buy it from, you can cut costs and save ££ instead!

Do you find yourself worrying too much about your how much your new baby will cost instead of enjoying your pregnancy?

It's true, babies are notoriously expensive creatures, especially in the first few months, so you have to be clever about what you buy and where you buy it from.

A nationwide study from The Money Advice Service says you’re more than likely to end up spending at least £500 on nappies, clothing, feeding equipment and other essentials like prams and car seats.

The good news is, we're here to help!

Cost doesn’t always mean quality and we've found seven ways to keep your budget to the minimum, by spending less than £300 to build the PERFECT baby bundle.

1 Look out for online exclusive products and offers

Retailers love slashing prices online.

You might end up finding SUCH a steal so we highly recommend keeping an eye out.

This could apply to clothes or sets of even the most expensive of baby items, like a pushchair.

For example, this hamper from Aldi, is full of hidden goodies that are sure to make life easier when your baby arrives.

From soothers, clothes and sleep suits, it’s the perfect all-in-one for just £39.99.

Another eye-catching offer, is this amazing My Babiie stroller and Mamia backpack set.

For just £67.98, you'll get TWO of the priciest baby buys that can cost up to £100-200 each.

2 Sign up to newsletters

Stay subscribed to your go-to shops' emails and you’ll get the latest offers delivered straight to your inbox.

It'll save you SO much time AND helps you to never miss a bargain again, as you'll be first to know!

This will keep you updated on special events, too, so you can just set your reminders and get shopping (guilt-free).

3 Buy in bulk

Purchasing baby products in larger quantities often saves a hefty amount of money, too.

Plus, it will save you from an extra trip to the shops (that as a new mum you will rarely have time for).

Buying everyday essentials like nappies and baby wipes in bulk is highly recommended.

For example this jumbo pack of Mamia Nappies is excellent value for money; you get a pack of 98, for just £4.39.

Plus, you can explore more of Aldi's newborn nappy range here AND keep an eye out for limited time deals where you get two (or more) of the same products for a discounted price.

4 Choose multitasking buys

Investing smartly in double-duty products will save money (and possibly space, too).

For example, this portable 2-in-1 potty from well-known brand, Potette can be used as a portable potty AND a trainer seat. It’s ideal for travelling and costs just over a tenner!

5 Share toiletries with your little one

Baby oil for the smoothest skin, nappy cream for acne and pigmentation; we're sure you’ve heard it all before!

Baby toiletries usually contain the gentlest of ingredients to protect sensitive skin AND parents can take advantage of that, too. It'll not only help you save on expensive skincare, but you will find them to be equally (if not more) effective.

We are obsessed with this bedtime bath soak from Mamia’s no tears range.

It'll not only help calm babies before bedtime, but it's also an amazing (and much cheaper) bath time treat for you.

6 Follow the reusable route

Reusable nappies and training pants are not only a great eco-friendly alternative to disposable pairs, BUT they also turn out to be cheaper if used in the long run.

Even including the cost of water and electricity for washing them, they still remain more purse-friendly than disposables.

We are obsessed with this adorable reusable swim nappy. Just in time for summer, use it while on holiday or even in the paddling pool. Just wash them at 40°C after each use and they will be good as new again!

7 Spend money on important items

Knowing what’s worth investing in when trying to save is crucial.

DONT spend your cash on baby clothes as newborns are sure to outgrow them in months (if not weeks).

A good car seat, on the other hand, is well worth EVERY penny.

The My Babiie 0+/1 swivel car seat is designed with your baby’s safety in mind.

It will allow newborns and toddlers of up to four years of age stay safer during trips by facing rearward for longer.

It has an ingenious 360° swivel design, extra-secure harnessing AND it’s extremely easy to use.
