Down's syndrome, also known as Down syndrome or trisomy 21, is a genetic disorder that causes a distinctive physical appearance and usually some degree of learning difficulty.

People with Down's syndrome also typically have some health issues, including heart disorders and difficulties with their sight and hearing.

Some parents find out their child has Down's syndrome through antenatal testing, while others don’t know until their child is born.

Down's syndrome is a lifelong condition, but most people will lead fulfilling lives if they have access to good healthcare, developmental support such as speech therapy and physiotherapy, and support from other parents and kids with the condition.
