Chives Montessori School

Chives Montessori School and Nursery are set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside in the hamlet of Akenham, close to the county town of Ipswich.
The school was established 1989 and became a registered Montessori School in 1998. It has gained an excellent reputation for the best Montessori education and this year we celebrate the opening of our Nursery designed especially for our youngest members – our babies.
We would like to invite you and your family to visit during a Montessori session and experience the special atmosphere we pride ourselves on here. We will take pleasure in showing you our wonderful school.
We place particular emphasis on courtesy, grace and manners. Our strength is providing opportunities for each child to develop positive attitudes towards themselves, others and to establish a real joy in all aspects of learning for ever.
Our aim is to encourage every child to develop their full potential and to be confident and independent individuals. Our school motto, ‘ad caritatem dignitatemque omnibus’, means kindness and respect to all. This underlines our approach to one another and is the basis of our education here.
All staff are Montessori qualified, experienced teachers and mothers and work as a professional team.
We like to think of ourselves not just as a school but as a special community offering support, advice and flexibility to everyone involved at Chives Montessori.

Open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm for children between 4 months and 5 years of age.
