Chattertots Francais - Have fun in French

It’s just toddler fun, but in French! Encourage your child's natural enthusiasm for language and communication, have fun together and make new friends by joining us at Chattertots Français.

There are recognised benefits from learning a second (or third!) language alongside your child’s mother tongue. Repetition, demonstration, non-verbal cues, and interaction work together to help your child de-code language.

At Chattertots Français, children from 6 months to 5 years spend 40 minutes in a stimulating interactive session, entirely in French, comprising action songs, story time, games and much more. The children will be so busy enjoying themselves that they won’t notice that they are learning too! And don’t worry if your own French is very limited or rusty – we will guide you every step of the way.

Following the structured class, both you and your child will have the chance to relax and chat or play over refreshments, giving you a great opportunity to get to know like-minded people locally and perhaps to make some new friends, or catch up with old ones.

Once of school age, the children may join Chattertots “à table” where they quite literally move up to, and around, the table. Here they enjoy a traditional after school French “goûter” (or snack) and the focus is on learning language around food, manners, sharing, expressing need and preference. After their snack the children sing together and have fun with various familiar games, all entirely in French language.

Class are held during term time at two venues and are suitable for children from 6 months to 5 years old.
