Can this baking soda test predict the gender of your baby?

Lots of people have their personal theories when it comes to predicting the sex of your baby - from the way you carry your bump to the severity of your morning sickness.

Here's one we hadn't heard before. Apparently you can predict the sex of your baby using baking soda! Can this test really reveal your baby's gender?

The baking soda test is simple enough to carry out.

The baking soda test

  • Put a tablespoon or two of baking soda in a glass.
  • Add some of your urine to the glass (morning urine is better)
  • If the soda fizzes then you're having a boy
  • If there's no reaction you're having a girl

There is some science behind this test - apparently it's do to with hormonal changes in the body, which make urine more acidic if you're carrying a boy.
