Mixing bowls, kitchen scissors and bikini line trimmers ... hands up, who else has thought about 'repurposing' these household items as haircutting aids now lockdown is in full swing?!

Our days have certainly been brightened up by some of the sights we've seen on social media, as parents nationwide try their hand at hairdressing on their poor kids.

It's given us a bit of much-needed light relief while we socially distance ourselves ... and served as a much-needed warning not to get the scissors out, however shaggy the kids' hair might look.

Here's just some of the #coronahaircuts fails we've seen recently ...

Leading the charge, celebrity chef Tom Kerridge tried his hand at styling his son's hair, with some interesting results.

Flaunting his clipper 'skills', Tom shared a snap of the tot's new do on Instagram, complete with bald patches and uneven layers.

Erm, stick to the day job Tom!

In the non-celeb world, Instagram user @hayleygourlay shared this great snap of her son with a truly spectacular wonky fringe.

She captioned the snap: 'Elliot has a case of the coronacut #mumhaircut #coronavirushaircuts #nothappy'

Some kids have even turned into self styled 'barbers' during lockdown. Twitter user @StephenGraham73 posted this hilarious video of a young boy 'shaping' up his hair.

The reality: he came away with a completely bald head. EEK!
