Benefits and allowances over Easter and the bank holidays
Easter's behind us but if you're worried about how the bank holidays will affect your benefits payments and allowances over May and June, this should help.

There are a lot of bank holidays around this time of year, and that can mean that payment dates shift slightly for tax credit payments and child benefit payments.
So, if you're expecting your tax credit payment or your child benefit payment around the Early May bank holiday, the Spring Bank Holiday or the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, then read on to find out when you can expect your payments to be made.
Plus, we know money can be tight, so we've included some money managing tips below, too.
When are 2022 Easter and bank holiday tax credit payments made?
If your tax credit payment was due on 15 April (Good Friday) then you will have received it the day before, on 14 April.
If it was due on 18 April (Easter Monday), it'll have been paid on 14 April.
If it's due on 2 May (Early May bank holiday) it'll be paid on 29 April.
And because the late May bank holiday has been moved to form part of an extra long Platinum Jubilee weekend in June, if it's due on 2 or 3 June, it'll be paid on 1 June.
For parents in Northern Ireland, tax credit payments which were due on 17 March (St. Patrick's Day) will have been paid on 16 March.

When are 2022 Easter and bank holiday child benefit payments made?
Child benefits went up on 1 April from £21.15 per week to £21.80
If your child benefit payment was due on 18 April (Easter Monday), then you'll have received it on 14 April.
If it was due on 2 May (Early May bank holiday), it will have been paid on 29 April.
If you normally get Child Benefit every 4 weeks and your payment is due on 30 May you’ll get:
- one week’s worth of payment on 27 May
- the remaining 3 weeks’ worth of payment on 30 May
If your payment is due on 31 May you’ll get:
- one week’s worth of payment on 30 May
- the remaining 3 weeks’ worth of payment on 31 May
If you normally get Child Benefit weekly:
- If your payment is due on 30 May, you’ll get it on 27 May.
- If your payment is due on 31 May, you’ll get it on 30 May.

When are 2022 Easter and bank holiday Universal Credit payments made?
If you were expecting to get your money on 15 April (Easter Monday), then you'll have received it on 14 April.
If it was due on 2 May (Early May bank holiday), it'll have been paid on 29 April.
If it's due on 2 or 3 June, it'll be paid on 1 June according to reports.
