My last period started on May 14th and only lasted for 4 days ( May 18th). Yesterday when I went to the bathroom, I had light pink discharge (spotting) when I wipe. This morning, I’ve been experiencing bleeding. I’ve been moody. I’ve never had this happen before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Could it be ovulation bleeding or implantation bleeding? I did a ovulation calculator online and it said that I would be ovulating (26th-30th). My husband and I had sex during that time. Could the bleeding I’m experiencing 12

days after my last period ended be implantation bleeding? My period is usually every 28 days, but it’s way too early for it to

be my period.

Hello Jeree

It can be quite confusing when periods go a bit off track, especially if you have a normal regular cycle. I think you keep a good track of yours, so you will notice variations quickly.

Irregular periods can happen randomly, and can be related to a number of things. You can read more about that here:

You have mentioned the possibility of it being an implantation bleed, so if you are having unprotected sex this maybe the cause of the mid cycle bleed. An Implantation bleed can present as a very light period or some spotting in the very early few weeks of pregnancy so it is possible that this is another reason.

I think the best thing to do is keep a close eye on your cycle and see what happens over the next few weeks.

If your period doesn't come when you next expect it to, then perhaps think about doing a pregnancy test. If your period does come and they remain irregular then it would be worth having have a chat with your GP.

I hope whatever the outcome, it what you wish for.

All the best

I missed 3 of my birth control pills and my husband and I didn’t use protection during that time. Could the bleeding be from

ovulation? Have you had this happen before? Could I have ovulated during the 27th-30th? I’ve never had this happen before. I have a doctors appointment next

Thursday.
