Hi everyone.

I have just got to my third trimester and I’m starting to think about what to pack in my hospital bag and all the things needed for postpartum care so I can start collecting everything. There seems to be hundreds of list online with what to take with you, however my labour/stay will be slightly different. I don’t know if I will have a natural labour or a c section, however I do know that because of my other health conditions I have to stay in hospital for a minimum of 5 days even if everything goes super smoothly with no added complications.

So I suppose my question is what to pack? Obviously there’s all these list for labour and also postpartum care online, but if I’m there for 5 days minimum, what postpartum stuff will I need to take in and what does the hospital provide?

Has anyone been in for a longer stay and then wished they took something with them?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Rather than taking loads with you do you have a partner or family that are able to bring things when you visit?

Maybe you could make up several smaller bags with clean clothes for you and baby.. Snacks etc and any other supplies you might need for over the week and simply exchange bags every few days when someone visits?

That way theres not so much to cart home when you finally get out of there :)
