My lo is 12 months old stims.

Flap hands.

shakes objects with hand tensing face muscles.

rocks back and forth while sitting.

keeps hands out.

Claps his hands while breastfeeding.

pulls his hair while breastfeeding.

(All these last of few couple of seconds only)

Other things he does are

spin wheels or other spinable things of toys.

Puts objects on ears

puts finger in ears

touches his ears on cold or soft surface.

puts things in mouth a lot.

Doesn’t responds to name when he playing with something interesting. Other times he does.

has allergies 🤧 like cold

has gluten intolerance.

POSITIVE THINGS

Develops well according to ASQ 12 months, means he is babbling, standing without support for few seconds, cruising, smiles, laughs, waves, points, has joint attention and understands couple of instructions, has eye contact. Responds to name when not doing something fun. Says kaaa when sees a car. Says buuuu when sees ball birds and roBo. Tried gaining our attention by making sounds or coming right in front of us and bending to make eye contact.

I am having sleepless nights 😟

Hii.

He also likes opening closing doors.

He tiptoes when he walks holding furniture. Doesn’t walk on tiptoes while we hold his hands or while he walks using push walker.

Hi Rene

Thank you for posting.

It sounds like there are lots of positives for your LO which is great to hear.

It does sound like your LO is thriving well. A lot of those behaviours you have described are very typical for young children. It is hard when we have lots of information out there and although it is great to raise awareness of a wide range of needs for children it can also increase anxiety to parents when their LOs display a certain type of behaviour.

Have you spoken to your health visitor about your worries? It may be helpful to contact them so you can discuss further and they can offer more tailored advice for you and your LO.

You may also find support from your local children centre who provide a wide range of support for parents and children.

I hope this helps reassure you

Best wishes

Emma

Emma hii, thanks for replying.

I agree that all these information creates negativity when people like me have access to it.

The services you mentioned are not available in country where i reside. I have talked to pediatrician. He says my lo is fine as he has good eye contact responds to name, smiles etc. He says don’t go into micros when macros are fine. As my anxiety doesn’t want to believe him, I am worrying a lot.
