Hey!

my LG has just had her vaccinations yesterday and in her sleep had a seizure due to her temperature spiking but now I’m constantly worrying are these vaccinations going to do this again in the next 10 days when they say the MMR vaccine sometimes makes them unwell later on.

my first born never had an issue!

Anyone had anything similar?

thanks

xx

Hello Danielle

I am sorry to hear of the shock you must of had with your LO. Did you seek any medical support with this and have you had her checked over?

Children can have seizures if they spike a fever and it is known as a febrile convulsion. You can read more about them here:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/febrile-seizures/

This link will also talk about what to look for and how to act if you think your child is developing a fever.

I would have a chat with her GP to make sure they feel it was the immunisation that caused this, just to check it was not something else that she needs help with. You will then also be able to access their help moving forward if you remain anxious about future immunisations

Sending best wishes to you all

Hi, yes an ambulance was called so we did get checked over in the hospital and we have also spoken to the doctors I think this is more of a post to know if anyone else has been in the same situation and how did it plan out with future immunisation, it’s just so scary.
