19 discontinued chocolate bars we wish they'd bring back!
1. Cadbury Dream
Cadbury's white chocolate bar built up a bit of a cult following back in the '00s but despite this, it was discontinued not long after its launch in 2002.
It was rebranded as Cadbury White in 2019, but failed to build a bigger fanbase. If you're desperate to relive that creamy white goodness, you can still buy it in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
2. Cadbury Snowflake
There's currently a petition to bring this most divisive of chocolate bars back, with over 6000 signatures calling for the white chocolate version of the Flake to return.
The petition's organiser, John Malogony, wrote: 'In 2008 Cadbury broke hearts by discontinuing the Snow Flake (or Flake Snow). The bizarre decision still baffles people to this day and it needs to be rectified.'
The Snowflake was launched in 2000.
3. Mars Delight
After four years on our shelves, the Mars Delight, a deliciously light version of the Mars bar, was discontinued in 2008, much to our horror.
A petition to bring the Mars Delight back gained more than 6000 signatures, but has sadly not succeeded ... yet.
4. Cadbury Fuse
Launched in 1996, this popular chocolate bar was a staple part of our lunchboxes until 2006, when it was taken out of production in the UK.
The Fuse was made up of milk chocolate, nuts, raisins, cereal and fudge pieces. We're desperately hoping it can make a comeback one day.
5. Nestlé Vice Versa
Similar to Galaxy Minstrels, these chocolates – made up of a white chocolate covered in brown sugar coating and milk chocolate covered in white sugar coating were introduced in 1991, before being discontinued. There were two subsequent relaunches, in 2004 and 2012, but sadly they're no longer available to buy.
6. Cadbury Marble
We loved Cadbury's Marble – with its hazelnut and praline centre – and it seemed that others did too.
Sadly the Marble was discontinued in 2012, but B&M brought it back as a limited edition buy late last year, though sadly this wasn't made permanent.
In an Instagram post back in October, the high street store wrote: 'We may or may not have eaten all of these...🤤
'Available in store now, our brilliant range of #Cadbury #DairyMilk goodies🍫!
'Be quick though as they definitely won't last long😍!
'WHICH do you fancy?!'
7. Cadbury Nuts About Caramel
The original Nuts About Caramel chocolate bar launched in 1999 and was on our shelves for four years before the nuttier version of the Caramel chocolate bar disappeared.
It's safe to say we miss it!
8. Taz
Similar in style to the Freddo but with added caramel, these chocolatey snacks featured everyone's favourite 90s cartoon character on the front.
Though we can now enjoy a caramel Freddo as an alternative, it's just not the same.
9. White Maltesers
White Maltesers were officially taken off our shelves in 2014 in what the brand called a 'difficult decision'.
Fans have been calling for the white chocolate balls to return ever since, but no such luck yet.
10. Fox Echo Bar
Fox replaced the Echo bar – a chocolate bar made with milk and white chocolate and a crunchy biscuity base – with the Velvety bar, but fans were not impressed.
In a petition to bring the Echo back, one fan called it a 'beautiful chocolate bar' and called for its imminent return.
Sadly, it's still not back on our shelves.
11. KitKat Caramac
A mix of two favourite chocolate bars, the KitKat Caramac combined the KitKat's wafer with a sugary caramel coating, so it's no wonder we were obsessed.
Sadly this delicious chocolate bar was discontinued in 2005 and hasn't been seen since.
12. Cadbury Astro's
First launched in 1997, these candy coated chocolates with a biscuity centre didn't last long, though they're still available to buy in South Africa.
13. Cadbury Time Out
Introduced in the UK in 1992, the Time Out chocolate bar consisted of milk chocolate ripples between two wafers and was covered in even more chocolate. Our mouth's watering just thinking about it.
Despite a rebrand, it was taken off shelves in 2016, much to our dismay.
14. Penguin Flipper Dipper
Remember these dippable versions of the Penguin bar? Along with the KP choc dips, this was another staple of our school lunchboxes, but sadly these chocolate biscuits with white and milk chocolate dips didn't last long.
15. Rowntree's Cabana
This milk chocolate had a coconut filling with chunks of cherry.
Similar to the Bounty, it seems that fans had a love-hate relationship with the Cabana. Despite its popularity in the 80s, it was discontinued in the 90s, never to return.
16. Cadbury Snaps
What's not to love about a chocolatey version of a pringle? These stackable chocolate snacks made their way onto shelves in 2004, with a few different flavour options from orange to caramel, but it still wasn't enough to save them and they were discontinued in 2010.
17. Cadbury Wispa Mint
Not only did this chocolate bar contain our favourite bubbly chocolate, but it also came in a mint flavour from 1995.
After eight years it was taken off our shelves. While we can still tuck in to the equally yummy Mint Aero, it's just not the same as having two mint chocolate bars to choose from. Sigh!
18. Cadbury Spira
This Twirl-like chocolate was first sold in the North-West and South-West of England in the 80s but after a successful launch, it was rolled out across the rest of the UK.
Sadly Cadbury's got rid of this spiral chocolate bar in 2005, but fans are now calling for its return, with a recent campaign building up quite a fan base.
'I think it's time Cadbury started bringing back some of its golden oldies,' said the petition's organiser. 'It was a classic, along side marble, dream and taz bars. Cadbury need to bring back some of these classics, let's see if there is anyone out there who feels the same.'
19. McVities Trio
These deliciously tasty toffee chocolate bars were another must-have in our childhood lunchboxes and were first produced by Jacob's, who discontinued the Trio in 2003.
However, a successful fan campaign means that we can now buy a Trio once more, though since it's classed as 'Limited Edition', we're not sure how long they'll be around for.
Love chocolate? How about treating a loved one (or yourself) to this bumper box of classic chocolate bars? It includes treats such as Lion Bars, Toffee Crisp and even Munchies. Mmmm! See more details here at Amazon.
