Hey Amy. I have awful anxiety problems. I worry about the simplest of things 24/7 that can get out of control. I'm about 5 weeks pregnant. Xx

Hi Hun,
I had severe social anxiety while pregnant with my son (he is now 6 months old). I found it got easier to manage while pregnant but i still had random bursts of it sometimes for no reason.
Just try and stay calm and think about your baby, I found the best thing to do to stop it or make it easier to cope with is  after you have your little one think to yourself, "I have to hold it together for my baby as i need to look after him" x
Honestly its not as bad while pregnant as i find hormones seem to sort it out a little xx
I manage it pretty well now to be honest, i used to have 2 or 3 attacks a day especially while working (in a call center with constant abuse!) it was horrendous. Since having him its so much better! x

I am exactly the same I wanted to be pregnant for so long but now that I am my anxiety is taking over and I nearly had a full blown panic attack the day after my BFP thinking about giving birth and how much pain and panic I'll be experiencing! I just want to enjoy being pregnant. I was on sertraline and sporadically took propranolol (beta blocker to control debilitating physical symptoms) and I had diazepam as a back up in times of seemingly life threatening panic attacks, I probably took 3-4 a year at most. I have been off all meds for 2 years as we knew we wanted to start trying and to be honest only the Diaz was working and it's addictive and makes u feel drunk so you can't take it long term. I got just as many panic attacks taking them as not which was why I felt they were pointless. I do a lot of meditation and cbt to control it but I literally worry from dawn until dusk [emoji17] it must be difficult having bipolar especially if you get all the racing thoughts and highs and taking meds would be tricky during pregnancy and if not could it trigger a high or low?

Oh a call centre would drive me insane with panic- well done to you! That's comforting to hear that after pregnancy it improved. How did you go with labour? I'm terrified the panic will get so intense I'll pass out or throw up or die! Sounds extreme but I'm honestly really really scared [emoji22]

To be honest hun my labour was pretty traumatic... but i dont think that was panic as such lol.
I dont do pain lol. My temp was hypothermic even though i felt like a red hot oven, i went delirious and my body began shutting down... then teifi (my son) his heartbeat dropped so he was pulled out with forceps breaking my coycexx in the process lol. So you see, it was traumatic but i think when labour starts you dont have time to panic you just power through the pain lol xx

Hi ladies. I also suffer f on generalised anxiety disorder. Got a BFP on an early test and have done nothing but panic and worry since that it's a chemical pregnancy and then I'm sure I'll go onto having panic attacks about potential MC and analyse every symptom I do/don't have. Pregnancy is a tough time for people like us, it's nice to know we can support each other. I was so relieved to see this thread this morning!

Jessica I am a bit like that but I keep telling myself no good whatsoever can come from worrying, what will be will be wether I worry or not. It's hard when the panic sets in to think rationally but I think for people like us prevention is better than cure, loads of endorphins from exercise, meditating and sleeping help me a lot. Congratulations to you this is a really special time!!

Im 11+3 with my 4th and ive been diagnosed with panic disorder (anxiety resulting in frequent panic attacks) for about 8yrs. I always managed to come off meds when pregnant, but it can get bad, you just have to remember its an illness and let it runs its course. I find its worse when you try and get yourself out of it rather than flow with it. Congratulations x

Hiya girls, I have social anxiety and general anxiety disorder and gradually got over ptsd, I'm 4w 3d with my third, I haven't been on any meds since last year as didn't think they worked for me but I had lots of cbt which helped, I've got my first midwife appointment on the 14th September and it's in a children's centre in an area I've had a bad experience in and I've been worrying myself terrible about going there, I think I will ring and see if I can go somewhere else [emoji16] in my other pregnancies I seen the midwives in my doctors, I think it's all changed now though, And I can't ring till Tuesday coz its bank holiday.
Congratulations girls [emoji8] xxx
