Hi all!

Before a girl gets her first period, her body do start to make vaginal discharge. This is a normal step in puberty development and is a sign that periods is about (few months to a year).

You note this while doing the laundry (stained/gooey undies) and once noticing this its time for girl-talk and introducing the panty liner! A natural way to start your girl-talk!

Knowing this you wont be caught off guard once period starts and your girls will be prepared as well.

Thanks for reading!

It just means you need to start those mommy/daughter talks about the ways her body will change and that she understands puberty, periods and how and why her body is changing so that she's prepared for entering this stage of her life. Most of my DD's friends are starting puberty and also probably before her school has given her any information. She'll need to be prepared to deal with periods so get stocked up with liners, pads/tampons ready.

Yes just keep it a natural thing to talk about and start the talks at a young age so they we it as a natural part of being a woman.

Both my DD's knew from an early age what products I used and what they were for and I told them they would need them when they were older.

A few months ago I was shopping with oldest DD when she asked me if she could get some pads so we had a look at the tween range and choose some so she is prepared.
