It's not uncommon for celebs to become parents on their own – there are around 2.9 million lone parent families in the UK! From Sandra Bullock to Jamie Foxx, take a look at the stars who entered parenthood without a partner.

Aussie singer Natalie Imbruglia gave birth to her son Max Valentine in October 2019.

The Torn singer turned to IVF and a sperm donor to welcome her little one into the world, sharing the news of Max's birth with fans at the time.

She wrote on Instagram: 'Welcome to the world.. Max Valentine Imbruglia 💙 My heart is bursting.'

Sandra adopted her first son, Louis, in 2010 after her marriage with Jesse James ended. The actress then adopted daughter Laila in 2015.

During Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie, she adopted two children named David and Mercy from Malawi in Africa. 

Almost 10 years after the couple's divorce in 2008, Madonna adopted a pair of twins – Stella and Esther – from the same country, but this time as a single parent.

The iconic pop star also has a biological daughter, Lourdes, who was born in 1996 and a son, Rocco, who she had with Guy in 2000.

Lucy Liu welcomed her first and only child, Rockwell, via surrogate in 2015.

The actress has always kept her dating life a secret, so Rockwell's dad is still unknown.

Charlize has previously said marriage was never important to her, but having kids definitely was.

The actress adopted a boy (who is now being raised as a girl), Jackson, from South Africa in 2012 and a girl named August, from America in 2015.

Former Spice Girl Geri gave birth to daughter Bluebell in 2006.

Bluebell's father was eventually revealed to be screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, but he remains inactive in his daughter's life.

Angelina adopted her son, Maddox, in 2002 and daughter Zahara in 2005. She was with Billy Bob Thornton from 2000-2003, but his name was reportedly not on the adoption papers.

When the actress entered into a relationship with Brad Pitt, he adopted the children, too, and the couple went on to have their own daughter, Shiloh, in 2006.

The Hollywood stars adopted son Pax in 2007 and Angelina gave birth to their twins Vivienne and Knox a year later.

The identity of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr's mum has never been revealed, but he is part of his dad's new family with partner Georgina Rodríguez.

Ally McBeal star Calista adopted her only child, Liam, in 2001 just before she met her husband Harrison Ford.

Harrison has four adult children of his own, but he officially adopted Liam as well.

His second daughter, Annalise, was born over 10 years later in 2009, when he was seeing a woman named Kristin Grannis, although the relationship didn't last.

After Mia split from Woody Allen, the actress, model and activist adopted Quincy Farrow-LePine, who was born Kaeli-Sha, in 1994.

Quincy is Mia's youngest child.

Sheryl adopted two boys on her own – Wyatt and Levi – in 2007 and 2010, respectively, after splitting from ex husband Lance Armstrong.

Following the tragic death of his wife, Françoise de Langlade, the fashion designer decided to adopt a child.

He adopted a day-old boy named Moises from an orphanage in the Dominican Republic.

Diane is a single mum who's never been married. She adopted her daughter, Dexter, in 1996 and her son, Duke, in 2001.

The star of The Mindy Project and A Wrinkle In Time surprised everyone when she revealed she'd given birth to a baby girl in 2017.

All we know is that the child is a girl, named Katherine. We haven't even seen a glimpse of her!

Mindy has also remained very tight-lipped on who the father is or whether she's dating anyone.

The actress gave birth to a son in 2008, named Henry.
