I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong here but I used a cb ultra early digital, the one that flashes red at the top, admittedly I didn’t use FMU I used SMU. I got a BFN I know it’s stupidly early but surely if my period is due next Tuesday that’s within the 6 days early? Or am I completely wrong here.

I can’t help but feel completely deflated when I’m having similar feelings that I got with my son although with him I didn’t test until the day before my period due to a busy (shifts) working week. Sorry for the long post but I want to ask, am I really out? If this is ultra sensitive then surely I am :(

Hi Hannah,

To get an accurate result you have two main choices:

1. Use an early detection pregnancy test that allows you to test as soon as four or five days before your period is due. You can read more here: https://www.netmums.com/pregnancy/how-soon-can-you-take-a-pregnancy-test

2. Stick to NHS advice that says the most reliable time to test is any time from the first day of a missed period OR at least 21 days after having unprotected sex (if you don't know when your next period is due).

Good luck!
